Additional rate exemptions
Ratepayers who receive a partial or full rebate on their property rates, are fully exempt from the CID additional rate.
Check if you qualify for a rebate from the City of Cape Town
The City determines if you qualify. You may qualify for a rebate if:

you are dependent on a pension or social grant, and are 60 years or older earning R10 000 or less gross income a month; OR
-
you are a pensioner aged 60 years or older earning more than R10 001, but no more than R27 000 a month.
