Steering Committee

The Steering Committee members are Vredehoek property owners who want to ensure Vredehoek remains one of the best places to live in Cape Town.

The Steering Committee are volunteers. We are all ratepayers in Vredehoek and we believe that Vredehoek is one of the best places to live in Cape Town, and we want to make it better and safer. We believe that a CID is the best way to do that.

  • Property: 3 Luton Street
  • Residential property owner
  • Market researcher
  • Why I support the Vredehoek CID: "I absolutely love this city and the little suburb I call home. I joined the CID because I have seen what a great job CIDs are doing in other areas, and I wanted to help create the same in our little slice of paradise. I would like to ensure our community is safer, our public spaces are the best they can be, and that we are able to support the upliftment of everyone who calls this place home."

Jonas Sandstrom

  • Property: 55 Upper Mill Street
  • Residential property owner
  • Business owner and entrepreneur
  • Why I support the Vredehoek CID: "I’ve lived in South Africa permanently for 20 years and recently chose to settle in Vredehoek for its beauty & neighbourhood feeling. Having previously lived in the city, I’ve seen first-hand the positive impact that CIDs can bring, especially in improving public spaces and safety. As an entrepreneur in the hospitality industry, and someone who has served on various boards, I believe strongly in the power of people coming together to take initiative rather than relying solely on government. As a hands-on, active citizen who loves this place, I’m committed to supporting the Vredehoek CID and helping our neighbourhood thrive."
